Ian MacDonald, PhD

Scientist, Cell Biologist

Ian is a part of the antibody discovery group within the Core Technology team at Precision BioSciences where he is focused on developing novel cell-based assays to evaluate and optimize antibody binding for CAR T-cell immunotherapy. Ian received a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology from Duke University and a BS in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Maryland College Park. He came to Precision after finishing a postdoc at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and specializes in cell biology, epigenetics, flow cytometry screening, and lentiviral production. When Ian is not arms deep in a tissue culture hood, he can be found playing games, singing loudly, working out, or watching “The Office” with his wife.
