John has over 30 years of experience in molecular biology. Prior to coming to Precision in 2010 he spent 13 years at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at UNC-Chapel Hill studying peripheral blood monocytes followed by 10 years at AlphaVax developing vaccines targeting Cytomegalovirus and Respiratory Syncytial Virus among others. He has a B.S. in Animal Science and an M.S. in Microbiology from North Carolina State University. At Precision he has primarily focused his efforts on implementing and improving the process by which target-specific genome editing enzymes are identified. John is known for his full-throated laughs and keen sense of humor. When John is not at Precision you can find him hanging out with his wife of 30 years, Linda, or at the local Lifetime Fitness Club.
