Gene Liau, Ph.D.

Senior Vice President, Ocular Gene Therapy

Gene came to Precision from Pfizer where, as Executive Director, he led External R&D for the Rare Disease Unit and spearheaded the Pfizer Gene Therapy initiative. Prior to Pfizer, Dr. Liau led groups at Novartis and Shire working on cardiovascular/metabolic diseases, gene therapy, and rare diseases. Before joining industry, Gene was a Tenured Professor at the George Washington University Medical Center and Jerome H. Holland Laboratory at the American Red Cross. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Vanderbilt University and has authored more than fifty peer-reviewed publications. When not working, Gene enjoys cooking for family and friends, gardening and envisioning the next big thing.
